Inception: The Vacation Rentals Project began in April, 2012 as a study by the Hospitality Workgroup to accommodate a burgeoning vacation rental market which is expected to significantly expand as a result of recent consolidation of professional management and marketing companies. The project schema is for OpenTravel 2.0 Object Suite and targeted for early 2013 completion.
Challenge: This two-fold study of the existing 1.0 XML Message Suite Hotel schema will determine what existing functionality is common to vacation rentals and, secondly, what additional or enhanced functionality is required for vacation rental services and supporting XML objects in the 2.0 XML Object Suite.
