Leadership Roles & Responsibilities:
DC/BP has several responsibilities. The first is to review all new messages. Committee members review each message to ensure that it follows the Open Travel best practices. The committee is responsible for overseeing that proposed schema enhancements re-use attribute groups, simple types and complex types where logical. Joining this group is a great way to become familiar with OpenTravel's many re-usable components.
The DC/BP Committee is also responsible for reviewing submitted comments affecting common files and generic messages. Generally, the comments will have already been reviewed by one of the work groups, however DC/BP members are in effect the defacto QA team and it is their duty to ensure that OpenTravel schema best practices are being followed.
The committee reviews each use case and instance document that is submitted for inclusion in implementer artifacts. The DC/BP Committee also reviews such documentation as needed for accuracy and readability, including the Implementation Guide.
Prior to each release (public review, member review and final publication), the DC/BP Committee sends its recommendations, including any concerns it may have as to publication readiness, to the Interoperability Committee (I/O) .
